REGISTRATION PROCESS
It's easier than you think
In order to be registered as a domestic builder the VBA (Victorian Building Authority) must be satisfied that the applicant has the required qualifications, experience as well as knowledge to become a registered building practitioner.

Step 1: Eligibility
Let us help you determine if you are eligible to apply to become a registered building practitioner.

Step 2: Apply
We can take the stress out of the application process for you. The application must demonstrate the experience that the VBA is looking for in a successful applicant.

Step 3: Computer Assessment
In most instances the VBA will ask a successful applicant to attend a computer based multiple choice assessment. This is primarily used as a screening test for the required knowledge. The VBA moved to introduce this step due to the large percentage of applicants who had large gaps in their knowledge who were progressing directly to the one on one assessment and failing dismally. Rest easy, as providing the knowledge needed to successfully pass Step 3 & 4 was why we created "Become-Registered.com" in the first place.

Step 4: 1 on 1 interview assessment
This is what it all comes down to. This assessment consists of a 1 on 1 interview with an assessor from the VBA and this interview can last between 2-3 hours. They will be asking you questions to provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge in the following areas:

Business management
Site management
AS 1684.4
AS 2870
AS 4773.2
NCC
Legislation

In our one week Builder's Knowledge 101 course, we will go through all these areas in sufficient detail to ensure that you will breeze through these assessments with ease. Through the past decade we have gathered an extensive cache of practice assessments which you can train with to ensure this process is stress for you.
